Cheque Clearing - Will my money leave my account quicker?

The cheque will still need to get to the recipient, of course, before it can be paid in to their bank account. However, as soon as the cheque is paid in by the recipient, the clearing process can begin and the money will leave your account by the next working day.

Just as now, cheques should only be written if there are sufficient funds in your account to make the payment.
