Why do I get overdraft alerts when my current account balance is linked to another accounts balance - which has money in it?
The arranged alerts were introduced to inform you that you are using/will start to use your arranged overdraft. Although you do have your account linked to another, we only look at the money in the account that is/will go into an arranged position and will inform you of an arranged position.
You will not always receive an Act Now Alert (unarranged position/item will not be paid) when you have a linked account and this is because the balance in your other account will be taken into account when an item is due to be paid and if there is sufficient funds, the payment will be made and no alert sent.
