Mortgage Payments

A simple guide to paying each month, changing your payment details, and getting support.

Paying your mortgage

A Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay your mortgage each month. It’s part of your mortgage agreement and helps make sure your payment is on time.

Set it up in Manage your Mortgage.

Once it’s set up:

  • We take your payment on the date you choose.
  • If your date is on a weekend or bank holiday, the payment might show the next working day.
  • If the 30th or 31st is a Sunday, it might show on the 1st. It still counts as on time.

If this was a one‑off and you can pay now or before your next payment date, pick the option that feels right for you.

I can pay now

If you’re ready to make the payment today, the simplest way is through Manage your Mortgage in our app or online banking.

Once logged in go to:
Your payments > Make a… > Monthly payment
Then follow the steps on screen.

 

Information Message

I need a bit more time

If you can pay before your next payment date but not today, just tell us when you plan to make the payment. This helps us keep your account up to date and stops unnecessary reminders.

Select the ‘Chat now’ button on the right-hand side of the page and speak to one of our support team.

Chat is open Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.

I’m finding things difficult and need some help

Our Financial Health and Support team can help, and will work with you to find a way forward.

To get started, please fill in your income and spending details so we can understand what’s going on. It takes around 20 minutes, and you’ll need details of:

  • your bills and regular payments
  • your income (including benefits)

When you’re done, we’ll connect you with one of our advisors, who’ll help you plan your next steps.

You can also get free, confidential debt advice from PayPlan, our trusted third‑party partner.

They’ll help you explore the best way to get back on track.
