Make payments in app up to  £20,000 or £50,000 for Premier & Business customers when using your face as your password.

Set up biometric approval in just a few steps

It only takes a couple of minutes to register your face. You just need the NatWest app plus a forward-facing camera.

  1. Open the app and choose biometric approval from the settings menu, then tap Register now
  2. Next, take your photo
  3. Once we’ve got this, you’re all set up
  4. If you don’t have notifications on, we’ll ask you to turn them on. This will help when you get an approval request.

When we ask you to approve something later, you just look at the camera and blink to confirm #ItsReallyMe

New banking regulation has been introduced to improve online payment security and protect you from fraud and scams. In a nutshell it means we’ll ask you to confirm your identity and approve transactions more often.

How does it work?

It’s simple. If we need to check it’s really you, we’ll ask you to open your app and confirm your identity with your Face ID, fingerprint or passcode. Then you’ll be able to see the details of the transaction and approve or decline it.
