Our investment fees and charges

How much does it cost to invest with us?

We keep costs low and transparent so you’ll know exactly what you’re paying for and when.

Over longer periods of time (five years or more), investments such as stocks, shares and funds have the potential to give you higher returns compared to cash savings. But the value of investments can fall as well as rise. There is a chance you may get back less than you put in. Ensure you have safety net savings before starting to invest. Eligibility criteria, fees and charges apply.

Understanding investment fees and costs

Your fees will be 0.55% of your investment or less.
  • There are no upfront fees when you invest or exit fees if you withdraw your money.
  • We’ve kept the fees we charge low. We charge a Platform fee of 0.15% and a Fund fee of 0.40%.
  • The fund manager will incur costs when they buy and sell investments in the fund - these are called transaction costs and are paid out of the fund. These are typically in the region of 0.12% of the value of the fund each year.

What is a Platform fee?

This covers the costs for providing your NatWest Invest account.

The maximum you’ll pay is 0.15%. That’s 15p for every £100 of your investments.

We take payments on or after the 7th working day into the months of January, April, July and October. If the payment is scheduled to happen on a public holiday, we'll take it the next working day instead.

What is a Fund fee?

The maximum you’ll pay is 0.40%. That’s 40p for every £100 of your investments.

The Fund fee covers the costs incurred in running the fund. It includes the investment manager fee in addition to, holding and safeguarding the assets (depositary and custodian), administration, legal and audit fees and the cost of investing in external funds.

It does not include the platform fees, fund transaction costs or any potential one-off charges (e.g. advice fees or dilution levy).
