Protect your credit score

Top tips to stay safe

Keeping a strong credit score could mean you get better rates when borrowing money. Here are ways to protect it from fraud:

  • Check your accounts often: look at bank and credit card statements regularly. Spot any transactions that seem strange or unfamiliar.
  • Safeguard your personal information: be careful online. Don't share sensitive details on unsecured websites or through email.
  • Report fraud right away: tell your bank or credit provider immediately if you notice any unauthorised transactions.
  • Think about a credit freeze: a credit freeze limits access to your credit report, making it hard for identity thieves to open accounts in your name.
  • Review your credit report regularly:  make a habit of regularly checking your credit report in our app. Watch for errors, strange accounts, or sudden changes in your score. These could point to fraud.

How to protect your credit score

Watch for signs of credit fraud to help keep your money safe. Here’s what to watch out for:

  • Sudden drops in your credit score: If your score falls a lot with no clear reason, it could mean fraud.
  • Unfamiliar accounts on your credit report: Check for accounts or inquiries you didn’t start. This might mean someone is using your identity to get credit.
  • Denied credit applications: If you get denied for credit without a clear reason, look into it.
  • Missing bills or statements: If you notice bills or statements missing or receive bills for accounts you didn’t open, it may mean identity theft.

See your credit score in your app

Step 1 - Log in to our app and tap on the customer icon on the top left of the screen to access Your Profile.

Step 2 - Select Know your credit score from the list.

Step 3 - You'll be shown your credit score and will be able to access your report.

Great, you will now be viewing your credit score in your app.
