Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a technology which can learn and solve problems, allowing computers to think, act, and respond in a similar way to humans.
Generative AI (Gen AI) generates entirely new content such as text, images, videos, and sounds. This can bring lots of benefits to our lives but can also make scams even more convincing by:
- Creating more realistic scam email and message attempts.
- Using deep fakes. These are videos of someone that have been digitally edited to appear as someone else.
- Using voice cloning. This is where someone’s voice is recorded and used to create audio content, made to sound like that person.
