What is a Foundation account?

Our Foundation account is a straightforward account designed to help you manage your money. We may offer you this account if you aren't eligible for one of our other bank accounts, or if we feel it’s more appropriate for your circumstances when applying. Please note, you cannot directly apply for this account. Overdrafts are not available and no interest or charges can be applied.

What are the main features of our Foundation account?

  • Bank with no monthly fee
  • You’ll get a contactless Debit Card to make purchases and withdraw cash.
  • You can use our mobile banking app to track your bills and spending.


We’ll only offer you our Foundation account if you apply for one of our other bank accounts, but don’t qualify.

Why the Foundation account is more suitable for some customers

If you've encountered difficulties with money before, you may not be eligible for a number of our bank accounts.
