Life Insurance
Life Insurance pays out a sum of money if, while you’re insured, you die or you’re diagnosed as terminally ill. It could help to pay off your mortgage or look after your family. You choose how much insurance you need, and how long you’d like it to last for. You can also insure just yourself or both you and your partner. Available to customers aged 18 – 77 at the time of applying. Critical Illness Cover can only be purchased together with a Life Insurance policy.
Guaranteed Over 50s
It’s a type of insurance policy designed for people aged between 50 and 80. The policy can only cover you (single person). You can choose how much cover you need, or how much you’d like to pay each month. You can take out more than one policy, as long as your monthly premiums across all of your Aviva Over 50s life insurance policies taken out with us are not more than £100.
Who is life insurance for?
Life insurance is for everyone who wants to help protect the people who matter most. Whether you’re just starting out or well established in life, it’s designed to support your loved ones financially if the something happens to you.
We offer life insurance to customers aged 18 and over, making it accessible no matter your stage of life. You can also look at our critical illness addition to our life insurance which covers 52 illnesses.
Why do I need life insurance?
If you were no longer around, life insurance can help reduce the financial pressure on your family. It provides a lump sum that can help with:
- Mortgage or rent payments
- Household bills
- Childcare and everyday living costs
- Outstanding debts or financial commitments
It’s about peace of mind—knowing that your loved ones would have financial support at a difficult time.
When is the best time to consider life insurance?
The best time to look at life insurance is before you need it—so your cover reflects your circumstances today and can support the people who rely on you. Life changes often bring new responsibilities. It’s a good idea to think about life insurance when you:
- Buy a home or take out a mortgage
- Take on large borrowing or financial commitments
- Move to a new address
- Get married or start a long-term partnership
- Have children or dependants who rely on you
- Experience a change in health status
