Confirmation of your National Insurance number
Keeping Your ISA Details Up to Date
To make sure your ISA stays compliant with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) rules, we regularly review account details. One key requirement is having a valid National Insurance number linked to your ISA.
To keep your account active, we may need you to confirm your National Insurance number. Your ISA will continue to operate normally provided you supply us with a valid National Insurance number. If this is not received, restrictions will be placed on the account, and you’ll no longer be able to pay money into your ISA.
For ISAs with instant access, you can make deposits once we have received a valid National Insurance number.
If you have a Fixed Rate ISA, when this matures you can make deposits again, but only if we have a valid National Insurance number on file.
Why is this important?
HMRC requires all ISA holders to provide a valid National Insurance number. Without it, we can’t keep your account active.
