Joint bank accounts

To add a joint party to an account, you must both be 18+ and a UK resident. Specific account criteria and eligibility apply.

What is a joint bank account?

A joint bank account is one you share with somebody else, like a partner or friend. You share control and responsibility between you.

Sharing a joint bank account can be an easier way for couples, flatmates and others to manage household bills. But with joint access to the money, trust is important.

A joint account lets you do all the things you can with a sole bank account. Once you’ve added someone, you’ll both get a contactless bank card and access to the joint account in our mobile app and Online Banking.

Choose the best joint bank account for you

Our Select, Reward, Premier Select, and Premier Reward accounts allow you to add a second account holder. You can either add them to an existing account or open a new account and add them later.

If you hold a Reward Silver, Reward Platinum, or Premier Reward Black account, you also have the option to add a second account holder, provided they already have an account with us.
