How do I make a payment to my mortgage?

How do I make a payment to my mortgage?

As part of the terms and conditions of your mortgage, you must have an active Direct Debit so that we can collect your monthly payments.

If you don't already have a Direct Debit set up, you can do this by logging in to Manage Your Mortgage (opens in a new window) which is our online mortgage service. Just select 'My payments' from the 'My payments and services' menu.

To log in you'll need your mortgage account number, surname, date of birth and mortgaged property postcode. You can find your mortgage account number on your most recent mortgage statement, in the 'Account summary' section of online and mobile banking, or, on your mortgage offer documentation.

The details we need to set up a Direct Debit are full name(s), bank account number and sort code.

If your Direct Debit payment is returned as unpaid by your bank with the answer 'refer to payer' (please contact your Bank if you need to confirm this), we’ll automatically re-present the Direct Debit ten working days later. Providing there is enough money in your account on that day, there is no need to make a manual payment.

If you still need to make a missed or manual payment, the quickest way is online using a credit or debit card via Manage Your Mortgage (opens in a new window). We’ll show you exactly how much you need to pay, and it’s usually applied to your mortgage account in just a few hours. You’ll also receive email confirmation that the payment was successful.

Just select 'My payments and services' from the main menu, followed by 'My payments'. The option "Make a payment (Overpayment, missed mortgage payment or manual mortgage payment)" is the one you need.

If you have any queries or you'd like to discuss your own situation further, please contact our Mortgage Team via online chat in Manage Your Mortgage (opens in a new window), who’ll be happy to help you.
