Make the most of Apple Pay

Contact free payments made stress free

Apple Pay is an easy, secure and private way to pay in store and online with Apple devices such as iPhone, Apple Watch,  iPad and Mac.

What is Apple Pay payment limit?

  • Apple Pay allows you to pay any amount, even above the £45 contactless limit in stores or online (retailer limits may apply).

Why is Apple Pay secure?

  • Apple Pay utilises a security method called tokenization. When you make a purchase, Apple Pay uses a device-specific number and unique transaction code. So no personal information is passed from your phone to the reader, not even your name or bank details.
  • Every transaction on your iPhone or iPad requires you to authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. Your Apple Watch is protected by the passcode that only you know and use every time you put on your Apple Watch.

Where can I use Apple Pay?

  • Use Apple Pay wherever you see the contactless or Apple Pay symbols - in stores, in apps, on websites and even on Transport for London.
  • You don't need to have any mobile signal in order to make an Apple Pay transaction. The iPhone uses contactless technology to communicate directly with the payment terminal.
  • To use Apple Pay you will need to have a supported device. Here is a list from Apple.
