NatWest to help raise £10m for the National Emergencies Trust Coronavirus Appeal

NatWest has partnered with the National Emergencies Trust to raise money to help those worst affected by the coronavirus pandemic – here’s how you can help.

However, if we collectively focus our sights on supporting our communities, we’ll get through the impact caused by coronavirus together.

Here's how you can help

To help bolster the efforts being made to alleviate the pressure on the people of the UK, the National Emergencies Trust (NET) has launched an appeal to raise funds for local charities and grassroots organisations that can provide vital support to people in need in the quickest way possible.

Via the British Red Cross, the NET is working with 47 community foundations that have an in-depth understanding of their local area, including what the priority needs are and how best to address these issues, so they can ensure the funding goes where it is most needed and can have the most impact.

In support of this vital initiative, NatWest has launched a match funding programme to help raise funds for the NET Coronavirus Appeal with the help of its customers.

Customers can donate cash, or, if they are Reward Account holders, can convert their accrued ‘rewards’ into a donation to the appeal. Whatever is donated, NatWest will double it, up to the 30 June or until £5m of donations has been reached, with the aim of raising £10m for the appeal.

Les Matheson, CEO, personal banking, for NatWest Group says: “I’m proud to share that we are supporting the National Emergencies Trust’s Coronavirus Appeal by matching customer donations, pound for pound.

“Thanks to the incredible generosity of our customers and colleagues, we’ve already raised more than £3m, and we’ll keep matching until we’ve reached £10m. Together we’ll make a difference.”

General Lord Dannatt, chairman of the National Emergencies Trust, adds: “The fundraising that NatWest Group’s customers have been able to do is phenomenal, and with its ‘donation doubler’ campaign, this will make the funds go even further.

“We want to thank our friends at NatWest Group and their customers for helping make a real difference in the lives of those who have been hardest hit by this crisis.”

NatWest and its customers have raised a substantial sum to help those in need – but there is still a way to go. To donate to this hugely important appeal, visit the NatWest website .
