An easy way to take online payments

Time to get online

There’s never a bad time to think about accepting online payments as a business, and with everything that’s happened in the last 18 months, the shift to shopping online offers a great way to try it yourself.

Tyl by NatWest gives you flexible ways to take those payments, either through your own website, via a secure link or by phone (or any secure device). You’ll wonder how you managed without it!

What are the different ways to pay online?

Use secure payment pages

You can take payments easily on your own website using Tyl’s secure payment pages. You can also change how they look to work with your business brand.

And they’re responsive, so optimised for desktop, tablet and mobile for a great customer experience across devices.

Let customers pay by link

If you don’t have a website then this could be the answer. You request money by sending your customers a unique Tyl payment link and then they pay online.

It’s so simple and covered by ‘3D Secure’ technology for added peace of mind and protection against fraud.

Try a virtual terminal

One of these will let you take payments over the phone or through your internet browser.

You can use any secure tablet, laptop or desktop and you’ll be able to simply manage your transactions too, using a whole heap of helpful features.

How to get started

Tyl like to keep things simple. So no matter which option you choose to take your payments – hosted payment pages or pay by link, there’s just one single monthly fee, and it doesn’t matter how many transactions you make.

That’s £14.95 (+ VAT per month) and on a rolling contract.

It’s also worth knowing that you’ll be charged PCI and processing costs which we’ll tell you about in your personalised quote. And you can use the Tyl portal to help you keep tabs on your sales and invoices so you know how your business is doing.

OK, how does it all work?

1. Get a bespoke quote for your business

You’ll get a price from us that’s based on your business need, and it’ll be a 30-day rolling agreement, not a fixed term contract.

2. Take payments as soon as you’re signed up

When you’ve been approved, we’ll help you to get set up and start taking payments, all within 48 hours.

3. See your payments roll in

Enjoy the cash in your account the next business day, so you don’t have to twiddle your thumbs waiting for payments to clear.

4. Sit back and see your real time trading data

The Tyl portal lets you see all your sales and lots of other good stuff too. And that just comes as part of the package, you don’t need to pay anything extra for it.

More questions about how online payments will work?

Are online payments secure?

Our hosted payments pages and virtual terminals look after your customer data safely and means there’s less your Payment Card Industry (PCI) vulnerability. You’re effectively using our bank-grade fraud protection and security checks, which is pretty nifty.

Both options have the extra layer of ‘3D Secure’ protection – which aims to reduce fraud and the likelihood you’d be liable for chargebacks.

More good news – Tyl is 3SD2 compliant too, which in English means you’ll meet the government’s new payment rules using this more secure way of taking card payments.
