Meet the Bankline team

Want to get to know Bankline better? Say hello to the people – and the pets – behind the scenes. Lead Product Owner Mark and his team share their best tips, including some well-kept secrets and what’s in the Bankline pipeline.

Mark, Lead Product Owner

What’s your favourite thing about working on Bankline?

Making a difference to people’s lives. We work in a digital team building digital products, but it’s all about people.

Any tips to help users get the most out of Bankline?

Spend a bit of time exploring what’s offered. We’re adding new features all the time which may well save you time. For example, it’s now quick and easy to stop cheques.

What are you most looking forward to seeing in Bankline?

We’re working through some changes that will make it easier to manage your profile and ensure that businesses give their staff the right banking privileges.

We know the Bankline team are very fond of animals. Do you have a pet who keeps you company at work?

No pets. Although lots of squirrels appreciate the oak trees I have in my garden!

And if Bankline was an animal, what would it be and why?

Of all the creatures in the animal kingdom, dogs are the most loyal. They signify such positive traits as loyalty, faith, honesty, and companionship. I’d like Bankline to be thought about in the same way by our users!

What about after work – what do you do to relax when you’re not improving Bankline?

Drink wine! Make pizza and ride my Peloton. Not necessarily in that order.

Harriet, Product Owner

What are you most looking forward to seeing in Bankline?

Over the next year, we’ll be introducing new payment types and delivering more intuitive ways to search and action your payments – making your day-to-day activity on Bankline smoother and simpler.

We know the Bankline team are very fond of animals. Do you have a pet who keeps you company at work?

My neighbour’s cat likes to wander into our house and sleep beside my office chair all day. It’s a great way to have a pet with none of the vet bills!

And if Bankline was an animal, what would it be and why?

I’ll choose a dog – it’s intelligent and complex, but every month we’re teaching it new tricks and commands!

How would you sum up Bankline in three words?

Secure, intelligent, evolving.

Monty, a regular star on Bankline’s internal Zoom meetings

Alan, Product Owner

What’s your favourite thing about working on Bankline?

Constantly looking for opportunities to improve the service that customers receive, and helping our wider Bankline team find solutions for queries that customers have raised.

Any tips to help users get the most out of Bankline?

Take the time to match each user’s access to what they need to do their job, and make use of the User/Role reports to review who still needs access. There are excellent webinar training sessions for Bankline Administrators to help you.

What are you most looking forward to seeing in Bankline?

The way that a single Bankline log on will allow customers to access even more account servicing options and other products they use from the bank.

Go on, spill the beans… What’s Bankline’s best-kept secret?

Make use of the Bankline email alerts feature. You can target and configure these payment-related alerts to a specific email address so you don’t get bombarded with thousands of messages!

We know the Bankline team are very fond of animals. Do you have a pet who keeps you company at work?

Yes, Monty is our handsome and very friendly ginger cat. He’s a user on my test Bankline profile and even has his own Smartcard! He’s also a regular star on internal Zoom calls and loves to sit on any paperwork I have on the desk.

And if Bankline was an animal, what would it be and why?

A meerkat because they are ever watchful, resourceful, and so well-connected to all the other members of their group.

What about after work – what do you do to relax when you’re not improving Bankline?

I love cycling and can often be found out on my new gravel bike on the local bridleways and trails, or on the static trainer in the garage. This year I did a 110-mile loop down to and along the south coast which was a real highlight.

Any final words for people who use Bankline?

Thank you for using our service 😊
