'Tackling Climate Change' – a virtual world tour ahead of COP26

Under the header “Uniting the world to tackle climate change”, the UK and Italy will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow between 1-12 November 2021[1], bringing together nearly all countries of the world to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The UNFCCC’s Race to Zero campaign is the largest alliance of companies, cities, states, regions, investors, universities and non-state actors pledging ahead of COP26 to halve emissions by 2030 and individually committing to achieve net zero emissions as soon as possible and by 2050 at the very latest[2].

With radical changes required from all countries to transition to net zero carbon economies, we want to deliver a behind-the-curtains-look ahead of COP26 – which NatWest is proud to sponsor as sole financial institution partner – at important, inspiring, and trailblazing developments across the globe to tackle climate change.

Following on from our “ESG for Corporates” series, our new  “Tackling Climate Change – A Virtual World Tour ahead of COP26” offers an insight into the net zero carbon journey of a number of countries.

Before we travel further afield, we’ll start with our tour at home and shine the spotlight on the UK.
