Jake Hallam

Vice President, Climate and ESG Capital Markets
Jake works within the sustainable finance space, including the structuring and execution of sustainable finance transactions, developing sustainable finance strategies, sustainability reporting, and investor engagement.

Jake joined the bank in 2017 on the Structured Finance graduate programme. On the two-year rotational programme he gained experience across a number of desks including Debt Capital Markets Origination and Leveraged Finance.

His very first role in the bank was in the Infrastructure and Project Finance team where he supported lending to renewable energy projects and key infrastructure assets, many of which delivered positive environmental and social impact. From the outset Jake has been able to combine his personal passion for sustainability with his work in the loan markets and debt capital markets and continues to do so in his role today.

In 2021, Jake completed the NatWest Group Climate Change Transformation Programme, delivered by the University of Edinburgh Business School.

Previously, Jake was an Associate in the Corporate and Financial Institutions Loan Markets team in NatWest Corporate and Institutions, working on the origination, structuring and execution of loans for NatWest’s large corporates, mid corporates, funds and insurance clients. Jake focused on developments in the sustainability-linked loan (SLL) market and carried this experience with him into the Climate & ESG Capital Markets team.

He graduated from The London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Economics.
