FX Webinar – January 2023

Each month Neil Parker, FX Market Strategist, records his views on the current state of the markets, and forecasts what lies ahead for global currencies and the economy.

Any way you look at it, 2023 looks challenging for markets and economies. In 2022, we saw a lot of FX market volatility, prompted by significant changes in the global economic outlook, interest rates, inflation and geopolitical risks.

This year may prove to be even more challenging on the economic front, with high interest rates likely to cause a further slowdown in activity, whilst inflation drops back significantly. As for the markets, did the closing activity of 2022 provide any clues for how markets would likely trade in 2023?

Neil Parker, NatWest Markets FX Market Strategist shares his views on the economic outlook, and Piers Leslie, Chartist from FactNotFiction Forecasting Ltd, provides a technical analysis of FX markets.

This webinar was recorded on 11 January 2023.

Q&A is not available in this recording.
