Adam Hanke
Managing Director, Head of Transaction Services Banks & Bid Management
Adam leads NatWest’s transaction services business for banks, overseeing global origination, relationship management, and the strategic development of correspondent and agency banking partnerships. He also manages the bid management and content teams responsible for delivering proposal materials and product content across all transaction banking solutions within NatWest’s Commercial & Institutional division. Across more than 14 years at NatWest, Adam has held senior leadership roles spanning Banks Coverage, Government Banking, and Transaction Services across multiple geographies.
He now brings this breadth of experience to a global remit, driving strategic initiatives, operational excellence, and innovation across the franchise. He is committed to building trusted, collaborative partnerships and to integrating new technologies that enhance capabilities, strengthen risk management, and elevate the customer experience. Before joining NatWest, Adam worked at Barclays within Cash Management, originating solutions for clients across the NBFI sector. He began his career at Anglo Irish Bank, where he held a variety of front and middle-office roles across Treasury, building a strong technical foundation in liquidity, payments, and financial markets.
Paula Thistleton
Head of Network Management & Partnerships
Paula heads Network Management & Partnerships for NatWest and has over 20 years of experience in the industry. Based in London, Paula leads the function responsible for managing the bank’s external relationships across international cash clearing, securities services, collateral management and digital assets. In addition, her role includes driving strategic partnerships forward, enabling collaboration with corporate entities across diverse sectors to deliver innovative solutions and enhanced customer value.
With over fifteen years at NatWest, Paula brings deep institutional knowledge and a proven track record in global banking operations and relationship management. Her career in Network Management began at ABN Amro, following formative experiences at UBS, Deutsche Bank, and Standard Chartered, developing a broad foundation in financial services.
Paula’s international perspective and strategic leadership continue to shape NatWest’s approach to global connectivity and partnership-driven growth.
Ritu Sehgal
Head of CIB Initiatives, Commercial & Institutional
Ritu leads the NatWest Transaction Services and Trade team, where she is responsible for driving business development strategy across corporate and financial institution clients. Her remit spans a broad payments product suite, including digital solutions, trade finance, cash management, and cards. In addition, Ritu performs a role of Head of Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) Initiatives, working alongside senior leadership to navigate the complexity of the CIB franchise across customers, products, geographies, legal entities, and functional teams. In this role, she ensures the business is mobilised to deliver the CIB strategy and drive the ongoing evolution of the CIB operating model.
Before joining NatWest in April 2022, Ritu served as Chief Commercial Officer at a cross‑border payments start‑up, leading the UK strategy and launch. Earlier in her career, she spent over ten years at Lloyds Bank in senior roles across financial institution coverage and transaction banking, including leading the FI Payments Sales team.
Iain Wyper
Director, Americas & APAC TS Banks Coverage
Iain works within our TS Banks Coverage team and is a Relationship Director for Financial Institution Transaction Banking Clients in the USA, Canada and Latin America. In addition he also leads the TS Banks Team responsible for the APAC region. Iain has extensive experience in the Transaction Banking arena and over the years has held various leadership roles in both Transaction Banking Sales and Account Management. He has a proven track record in developing good, strong client relationships with many of the largest and most complex clients and prides himself on delivering a high level of service.
Simon Eacott
Head of Payments
Simon joined NatWest in 1994 and brings a wealth of expertise, and end to end experience across payments, with a strong track record in strategic transformation, operations, and product management.
As Head of Payments for NatWest Group, Simon is responsible for defining and delivering the bank’s core payments product, including schemes and operational strategy.
Simon has led major customer centric innovation programmes, delivering enhancements across payment products to meet evolving customer needs and market demands. His leadership combines strategic vision with execution, ensuring the bank remains competitive in a rapidly changing payments ecosystem.
Over the course of his career, Simon has held several senior leadership roles and successfully led large scale transformation initiatives to meet complex regulatory requirements.
Simon is widely recognised across the industry, holding senior roles at various industry bodies including Swift UK, Pay.UK, P20 and Pennies, the charity that champions micro donations. Simon is an active contributor to key industry discussions that impact the payments eco-system, supporting collective industry objectives and public interest outcomes.
Trish Arksey
Head of Payments Technology
Trish has recently been appointed to the Head of Payments Technology role where she is now responsible for both the run and transformation of the critical infrastructure that supports the UK economy. 1 in 4 payments with a value of c£30 trillion per annum pass through the NW payments technology and accounts for over half the banks Important Business Services. In addition, she also holds the role of Programme Director for the One Bank ISO programme, the banks largest payments regulation and transformation programme spanning all franchise and functions with an annual budget of c£100m.
Trish has been with Natwest for almost 19 years, all of this time leading technology teams supporting various business areas such as Transaction Services, NWM, Bankline, GTS, Lending, Trade and Asset Finance.
Before joining Natwest, Trish spent 10 years at Hewlett Packard and prior to that almost 10 years at Unisys, starting as a mainframe computer room planner.
Married with 4 grown up kids, 2 grandkids and 3 dogs, there is no time for hobbies but if there was, it would be gardening, wearing an ugly hat, dungarees and knee deep in tomato plants!
Lee McNabb
Payment and Digital Asset Lead
Lee leads Payment and Digital Asset Strategy and delivery for NatWest Group. Defining / aligning the strategy and direction of the Group’s payment and Digital Asset capabilities across the different franchises and functions.
A broad role that focusses on all key market drivers - from customer needs and competitive threat to technology developments and the regulatory and market landscape.
Lee leads NatWest’s participation in key domestic and international payment and digital asset initiatives such as GBTD, project Agora and the Swift Digital Concept.
Lee has led fintech investment and sits as a board observer for Icon Solutions. He also sits on the Payments Association Advisory Board and chairs the UK finance CBDC working group.
Lee joined NatWest in 2018 after 13 years at the Co-operative Bank where he held senior leadership roles within product and payments. Looking after product / P&L, risk and strategy setting. Latterly owning the payment strategy together with responsibility for regulatory change and key payment scheme relationships.
Married with a daughter and son, Lee is a keen footballer and captains his local side. He is an ardent supporter of Liverpool FC and has followed them all over Europe.
Scott Christie
Americas Banks Coverage, Financial Institutions Group, US based
Scott leads FIG coverage of major bank clients across the Americas, working closely with leadership and CIB product teams to support advisory on capital, funding, balance sheet optimisation, transaction banking solutions and thought leadership insight-sharing. He focuses on translating client priorities and changing market conditions into outcomes, helping bring the group together to deliver through shared institutional intelligence.
Scott joined NatWest in 2016 and has held roles across CIB, with more recent experience in US capital markets and transaction banking teams. He began his career in 2012 at Barclays in large corporate origination.
