In conversation with Tesco and Treasury Today: Integrating ESG into treasury and accelerating the transition to net-zero

In this special episode of On Point, Andrew Blincoe and Alex Ashby, Head of Markets Group in Treasury at Tesco speak with Treasury Today about how to integrate environment, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into treasury and craft a successful sustainability strategy.

Nearly half (46%) of the 100 UK treasurers polled we polled in partnership with Treasury Today say they are most actively working to embed ESG considerations into their liquidity and funding operations, while more than a quarter are equally focused on making their supply chains more sustainable.

These efforts aren’t without their challenges

They raise a number of important questions:

  • How can treasurers extend a company’s broader sustainability strategy into the treasury?
  • What kinds of regulations and frameworks should treasurers consider as their move down the path of sustainability?
  • What’s the best way to approach ESG target-setting, monitoring, and reporting – internally and with suppliers?
  • How can ESG be leveraged to broaden and deepen relationships with key stakeholders, internally and externally?

To get answers to these questions and more, tune in to this special episode of On Point, where Andrew Blincoe and Alex Ashby, Head of Markets Group in Treasury at Tesco speak with Treasury Today about these challenges and share their perspective on how to successfully integrate ESG considerations into treasury.
