Phil has over 20 years’ experience in Fixed Income Markets having specialised in Regulation and Market Structure change that impacts how the sell side engages its client base, with the only constant being change.

He's experienced in leading customer sales strategy and front-to-back delivery across both sales and trading. Phil has a track record of bringing together content-led customer engagement, customer analytics, managing the blurred lines between high/low touch coverage, automation developments and key customer relationship management for the largest global accounts. Additional leadership experience in delivering strategy and execution of major Market reforms such as BREXIT, MiFID II, EMIR and GBP LIBOR transition.

Phil’s focus and passion is customer engagement around the ever changing market structure and regulatory world with experience across coverage, sales, regulatory delivery and strategy both micro and macro with a view to offer the best product and customer service to customers. Extensive engagement with market participants within industry groups and regulators alike as we aim to stay ahead of market developments and new risks to our system.

He has a Masters in Economics, from the University of Nottingham.

Phil joined the bank in October 2002 and has been in his current position since January 2023.
