Michaela Rizzo

Head of Pension and Insurance Solutions

Michaela leads the solutions offered to pension schemes and insurance companies creating bespoke offerings for their risk management of rates, inflation and FX and also asset and funding opportunities.

Michaela sits private side covering pension schemes, insurers and asset managers, working within the broader Pension & Insurance franchise. She also leads the NatWest Markets ESG Education workstreams and supports the Climate & ESG Capital Markets team.

Prior to NatWest Markets, Michaela worked at Redington as an Investment Consultant advising both defined benefit pension scheme clients (£2-25bn in size) and also corporates, on a range of strategic asset allocation, governance and responsible investment challenges.

In 2016, she took a sabbatical to lead a charity water & sanitation construction project in rural Nepal, building infrastructure to facilitate a sustainable clean drinking water source.

Michaela began her career at Deutsche Bank having experience across a number of private side roles. She worked in the European Pension Fund Coverage team, with a specialism in longevity swaps. She also worked in Debt Capital Markets aiding blue-chip UK & Irish Corporates with their financing and risk management needs, and the US Private Placement team.

Michaela holds an MA from Cambridge University having read Land Economy (Economics, Law and the Environment).
