Fazl Ahmad

Analyst, Private Finance Structuring and ESG

Fazl covers two desks within the business. He supports Private Debt and Credit firms in securing financing as part of the Funds Finance Securitisation team, and also provides innovative sustainability solutions to Sponsor firms in the ESG Private Finance team. The financing, ESG and client intersection across the teams, ensures Fazl is well equipped with the technical and fundamental knowledge to support our customers in the private markets sector.

Prior to joining the graduate scheme at NatWest Markets, Fazl completed an industrial placement as a Strategy & Analytics Analyst at PA Consulting. The role saw him transform businesses using business intelligence strategies across a variety of industries including energy, healthcare, and consumer products. Fazl has also had experience as a Front Office Intern at NatWest Markets, where he gained hands-on exposure across sales, trading, and capital markets.

Education:

Fazl graduated with an MPhil in Advanced Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge in 2022, where he contributed towards improving protein research in the institution’s Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. Fazl developed a cost-effective and non-toxic method to purify recombinant proteins using green-manufactured silica microbeads. Prior to this, Fazl completed a BEng in Chemical Engineering at University College London, where his prize-winning research focused on converting synthesis gas to olefins with critically pure compositions.
