Earning interest on your account

Interest is when your money earns money. So, if you had £100 in your account, 1% interest would be £1.00. In other words, you get a bit of extra money, just for keeping money in your account. Sweet.

Interest is calculated daily and paid monthly.

Definitions

Annual Equivalent Rate (AER): This is a notional rate used for interest bearing accounts which illustrates the interest rate if paid and compounded each year. It helps you to compare the effective rates of credit interest on different accounts.

Gross Rate: This means the interest rate you are paid before the deduction of basic rate income tax.

A £1,000 gift card could be yours

Apply for an Adapt account by 17th August and have it opened by 31st August and you'll be automatically entered into the prize draw.

After the draw closes, winners will be picked randomly and emailed at the address used when applying. The email will contain a code, which you can exchange for a gift card of your choice, from a wide selection available.

Who is eligible for this prize draw?

For new customers:

You’re automatically entered in the prize draw if you apply for a NatWest Adapt current account between 29th June 2026 and 23:59 hours on 17th August 2026 and successfully open the account following ID checks by 23:59 31st August 2026.

For existing Adapt customers:

If you already held a NatWest Adapt account prior to 29th June 2026 you can enter by emailing adapt@natwest.com with your full name, current account sort code and account number for one entry per person into the relevant Adapt Prize Draw.

How will I know if I won a prize?

Winners will be notified by email within 30 days of 17th August.
The email will go to the address registered for the child.
Parents will be emailed too if their email details were given (for kids aged 11-15).
You will be invited to exchange your reward code for an eGift or Gift Card from a wide range of high street retailers.
You will have 60 days to redeem your reward code.

Can I opt out of the prize draw?

Feel free to opt out of the prize draw anytime until 31st August. Just email adapt@natwest.com with your name, sort code, and account number. It won’t affect your Adapt account usage.
