How do I change my Online Banking PIN or password?

  1. Log in to Online Banking at www.onlinebanking.natwest.com (opens in a new window)
  2. Select 'Security' from the main menu
  3. From within the 'Change log in details' section select either 'Change your PIN' or 'Change your password'
  4. Follow the on screen instructions.

Please remember the PIN and password you choose will be used with both Online Banking and telephone banking.

PIN criteria

Your new number must have four digits. To keep your PIN secure, we won't accept:

  • Numbers in an ascending or descending order, for example 1234 or 7654
  • The same number three or four times in a row for example 1222 or 7777

Password criteria

Your new password must have between six and twenty characters, and contain both letters and numbers. To keep your password secure, we don't allow:

  • Hyphens, punctuation marks, or spaces
  • Three letters or numbers in ascending or descending order, for example hello123 or abc3susan
  • The same character repeatedly, for example CCCCCCCC or 999999999
