UK and worldwide travel cover for you and your family
Cover includes:
- Medical and emergency expenses – up to £10 million and hospital benefit up to £400 per person
- Winter sports cover – with no need to register
- Legal expenses – up to £50,000 and cancellation cover up to £5,000
- Catastrophe cover – up to £500 per person if a disaster, such as fire, flood or avalanche, causes you to cancel or change your holiday
- Recuperative holiday costs – up to £1,000 if you have made a claim for emergency medical expenses
- Emergency medication – up to £250 towards the cost of essential medication that is lost or stolen on holiday – for a pre-existing medical condition we have agreed cover for
Main exclusions
- Over 70s – if you are aged 70 or over, you must call us each year on 0870 609 1213 (Minicom 0870 523 9670). You’ll have to pay an annual premium of £50 (per account) and complete a short questionnaire about your pre-existing medical conditions.
- Existing medical conditions – if you have an existing medical condition, you must call us on 0870 609 1213 (Minicom 0870 609 1213). You’ll need to complete a short medical questionnaire. We may be able to provide cover for free for your pre-existing medical conditions, there may be an extra premium or we may be unable to cover you. We reserve the right not to extend the policy.
- 31 day maximum limit – for trip duration, including winter sport holidays.
- Dependent children – must be under 18 at the start date of the journey (or under 23 and in full time education). They must also be living at the home address (or with the other parent), unmarried and not entered into a Civil Partnership.
- The party – dependent children and any guests added to the policy must be travelling with the account holder.
- UK trips – these must be pre-booked, at least two nights in duration and a minimum of 25 miles from your home address.

Q. Where can I find my policy number?
A. We don’t issue policy numbers. Instead you can use our generic number IGCS1312.
If you have bought an Over 70s extension or if you have been medically screened, your documents will show the number you need to use. This also applies if you have bought an upgrade.
If your travel organisation needs you to provide evidence that you have travel insurance in force, you can print out a copy of the Certificate of Advantage Gold Travel Insurance (PDF, 72KB).
Q. Do I need to take my policy with me when I go on holiday?
A. Your policy may come in handy if you have to seek medical attention – so we recommend you take it.

A. Yes, you can add business, wedding, golf and hazardous activity cover. Call us on call 0870 609 1213 for more information. There’s an extra premium for this cover.
Q. Apart from me, who is covered under the policy?
A. Apart from you, the policy also covers your partner and any dependent children. Dependent children must be:
- Under 18 at the start date of the journey (or under 23 and in full-time education)
- Living at the home address (or with the other parent)
- Unmarried and not entered into a civil partnership
You can pay to add adult guests to the policy, as long as they’re travelling with you. Call us on call 0870 609 1213 for more information.
Q. Does the policy cover holidays in the UK?
A. Yes, provided your UK holiday involves pre-booked accommodation of at least two nights and is at least 25 miles from your home.
Q. What’s the longest holiday that can be covered under the policy?
A. The maximum length of trip is 31 days for all holidays, including winter sport holidays.
