Text alerts
How text alerts can give you advance warning
It's easy to set up text alerts on your mobile. But they're more than just a handy way to stay on top of your money.
They can also warn you of any unusual activity on your account. And the sooner you know, the sooner you can get in touch with us to put things right.
Balance update
When you register for the text alert service, you can choose which day you'd like to receive your balance update text alert.
This could prove invaluable if a criminal manages to access your account - as they will usually attempt to withdraw funds.
So, if your balance is less than you expect, it's worthwhile checking out why - and reporting anything suspicious immediately.
Lower limit alert
You might choose to set a lower limit alert - perhaps at £20 or £50. So when your account dips below this level, you'll get a message on your mobile.
This is particularly handy if a criminal tries to withdraw funds from your account. The lower limit alert will draw your attention to the problem, so you can report it to us immediately.
Upper limit alert
This alert doesn't have an obvious security use. However, it's a handy way to make sure you've received funds into your account - for example, if you've set your limit to trigger when you receive your salary.
If your salary hasn't arrived, you won't receive the alert - warning you of potential fraud.
