Financial support when you can’t work due to illness or accident

If you can’t work, you may have no earnings. Would you still be able to enjoy the lifestyle you have today, and save for your retirement?

Income protection cover helps you protect your lifestyle. It could give you the money you need when you can’t work because of illness or accident.

How it works

If you can’t work for a prolonged period, your income protection cover could provide you with a regular monthly income for an agreed period of time.

  • How much income protection? – think about state benefits and anything you get from your employer
  • When do payments need to start? – your employer may continue paying you for a while
  • How long does the cover last? – usually until your normal retirement age, which can be between age 50 (55 from 6 April 2010) and 65
