Will Writing and Executor Service

The first step in making your inheritance plans

Making a will is something that makes sense for everyone. Whatever stage you’re at in life, or with your retirement plans, a will makes life easier for your dependants.

Why make a will?
  • It cuts out delays- if you die without making a will, your dependants could wait for months before getting access to any funds
  • It lets you decide- you can set out who you want to pass your assets to, and in what proportions
  • You can provide for your family- and make sure their financial needs are properly addressed

Will writing also helps you identify any potential inheritance tax issues, and make provisions to minimise your liabilities.

The NatWest will writing service

Our will writing service is provided by Hugh James, one of the top law firms. The Scottish service is provided by Brodies – winner of the Regional Legal Team of the Year at the 2009 STEP Private Client Awards.

Executor service

When you make a will, you’ll appoint an executor. It’s the executor’s role to make sure the instructions in your will are carried out.

You can appoint NatWest as your executor, and enjoy the peace of mind that an experienced, impartial team will act on your behalf. And since we’re a company – and not an individual – you’ll not need to change your will if an individual executor becomes ill.

Is your will up to date?

According to research, a third of people who have wills haven’t updated them in the past five years.*
