It's easy to apply

You'll simply need a current passport and a valid UK visa to apply for a NatWest NRI Welcome Account – be sure to take these with you. Just visit one of 20 ABN AMRO branches in India.

You can also apply in person at the NatWest Whitechapel branch in London.

Using your account for the first time – if you applied at an ABN AMRO branch in India

  • Non-UK passport holders – when you arrive in the UK, visit any NatWest branch with your passport and visa. You will also need details of your UK address if you didn’t give this when you applied. We will activate your account immediately.
  • UK passport holders – when you arrive in the UK, simply notify us of your UK address if you didn’t give this when you applied. We will activate your account immediately.

Once your account is active you will receive your Welcome Pack within 10 business days. This will include your account details. Your paying-in book, Cashcard and PIN will also arrive separately.

Using your account for the first time – if you applied at our Whitechapel branch

  • Already resident in the UK - your account will be active as soon as it is opened.
  • Not already resident in the UK – your account will be activated once we receive notification of your UK address.

Once your account is active you will receive your Welcome Pack within 10 business days. This will include your account details. Your paying-in book, Cashcard and PIN will also arrive separately.
