Safe internet shopping

Working to protect you and your card

Your NatWest Credit Card is designed to help keep you safe.

Online shopping with NatWest Secure

NatWest Secure helps to keep your card safe online. It asks you to choose a special password to confirm payments when you shop online. The service doesn’t cost a penny, and it helps to make sure only genuine cardholders can spend online.

Using your NatWest Secure password when you shop

When you shop and pay at online shops, many will ask you to enter random characters from your password. It’s as simple as that.

Our internet guarantee

It’s a horrible feeling - you discover a transaction has been carried out on the internet without your knowledge or consent. But there’s no need to worry - if you've registered with NatWest Secure, we guarantee not to hold you liable for the fraudulent transaction.

Can I register more than one card?

Yes, you can register any NatWest, MINT or Royal Bank of Scotland credit or debit card for NatWest Secure. All the cards will need to be in your own name.

Register your card for NatWest Secure now

It’s a good idea to register today. If not, some retailers may ask you to register your card while you complete a purchase.

Be Card Smart Online

APACS, the UK Payments Association, recommend you follow this simple advice when shopping online:

  1. Keep your PC protected – you should use the latest browser and up to date anti-virus software
  2. Look for the padlock – a padlock symbol displayed in your browser window means your information will be handled securely
  3. Register your cards with Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode
  4. Always log out after shopping online and remember to save the purchase confirmation email
