Savings Accelerator Credit Card

Boost your savings rate by up to 3%

Over 18? Earn over £10,000? Want to boost your savings by up to 3%? Then our Savings Accelerator Credit Card could be for you. Typical 16.9% APR (variable)

Savings Accelerator is only available for application in branch.

How it works

Your Savings Accelerator Credit Card is linked to a NatWest First Reserve savings account. If you don’t already have a First Reserve savings account you will need to open one at the same time as you apply for the Savings Accelerator Credit Card.

The more you spend the more of a boost your savings receive. If you make a purchase on your card within the first 45 days from account opening, for the first 90 days you will receive a 3% bonus interest enhancement to your First Reserve account.

Then you could benefit from a bonus of up to 3% every 90 days on top of your standard rate, depending on your level of average monthly spend. For details of the standard rates that apply to your First Reserve account, please see our Savings Rates.

Equivalent Monthly SpendBonus Interest
Tier 1£50 - £2491%
Tier 2£250 - £4992%
Tier 3£500 +3%

The Equivalent Monthly Spend is your total spend on Purchases over a period of 90 days divided by 3 and rounded to the nearest pound. The first 90 day period over which an Equivalent Monthly Spend is calculated will commence on the date that you open your Card and Equivalent Monthly Spend will be calculated for each consecutive 90-day period thereafter.

Common definitions

Annual Equivalent Rate (AER). This is a notional rate used for interest bearing accounts which illustrates what the gross credit interest rate would be if paid and compounded on an annual basis. It helps you to compare the effective rates of credit interest on different accounts.

Gross Rate. This means the interest rate you are paid before the deduction of income tax.

Net Rate. This means the interest rate you are paid after the deduction of income tax.

Take control of your card

Manage your credit card online

Check your balance or make a payment from your computer.

Worry-free payments

A Direct Debit means you’ll always pay your bill on time. Settle the balance in full or choose any other amount. However, we don’t recommend just making the minimum payment and you must have sufficient funds to pay your direct debit successfully.

Credit limit increase

You can ask us to review your credit limit after you’ve had the card for six months.

Move funds to a bank account

You can transfer money from your Savings Accelerator Credit Card to any UK bank account. You simply pay your money transfer rate from the date of the transfer, and the minimum transfer is £250. See our rates and charges.

Cash advance

Your Savings Accelerator Credit Card gives you access to £300 each day, from cash machines around the world. The amount you can withdraw depends on your credit limit, and there’s a 3% handling fee - a minimum of £3.

Purchases and balance transfers

Purchases

Pay a low rate of just 4.9% on all your purchases for a whole nine months from account opening.

After the introductory period, your purchases will be charged at your standard rates. For more about purchases – see our rates and charges.

Transfer your balances

Why not consolidate your existing debt into one easily manageable sum by transferring balances from your existing cards to your NatWest Credit Card.

There is no fee and so your transferred balances will just be charged at your standard rates. Find out more about balance transfers – see our rates and charges.

Transfer up to a limit of 95% of your credit limit

If your new Savings Accelerator Credit Card has a limit of £2000, you could switch up to £1900 of your existing balances.

If you pay your balance (and your previous month's balance) in full and on time each month you'll enjoy up to 56 days' interest free credit on all purchases.
