Who can apply?

If you are an existing NatWest current account customer then that is great news as you could apply for our Gold Card online today and take advantage of our great low rate on purchases.

You must provide your NatWest account number and sort code within the application, be aged 18 or over and earning at least £10,000.

If you are an existing NatWest current account customer and you already have a NatWest Credit Card, you can still apply for the NatWest Gold Card, but please note that transfers from other Royal Bank of Scotland Group cards are not permitted.

Worry-free payments

A Direct Debit means you'll always pay your bill on time. Settle the balance in full or make the minimum payment. However, we don't recommend just making the minimum payment and you must have sufficient funds to pay your direct debit successfully.


Credit limit increase

You can ask us to review your credit limit after you've had the card for six months.


Move funds to a bank account

You can transfer money from your Gold Credit Card to any UK bank account. You simply pay your money transfer rate from the date of the transfer, and the minimum transfer is £250. See our rates and charges.


Cash advance

Your Gold Credit Card gives you access to £500 each day, from cash machines around the world. The amount you can withdraw depends on your credit limit, and there's a 3% handling fee - a minimum of £3.

Purchases and balance transfers

Purchases

Pay a low rate of just 8.9% on all your purchases for a whole nine months from account opening.

After the introductory period, your purchases will be charged at your standard rate. For more about purchases - see our rates and charges.


Transfer your balances

Transfer any balances you have to us in the first 3 months from account opening and pay just 8.9% p.a. for life of balance and, every 6 months thereafter, we will give you a 2% payment back.

What's more there is no balance transfer fee!

The 2% payment is calculated on the outstanding amount of those balances transferred in the first 3 months.

Transfer up to a limit of 95% of your credit limit

Balance transfers are limited to 95% of your available credit limit so if your new card has a limit of £2000 you could switch up to £1900 of your existing balances. Transfers from other Royal Bank of Scotland Group cards are not permitted.

Please note that if you take advantage of the 8.9% p.a. balance transfer offer and the 8.9% p.a. purchase offer your monthly payments will be used to pay off your balance transfer first.

If you also have an Advantage Gold current account you are guaranteed a 1% discount on the standard typical APR for at least 12 months. Rates variable. Important information

The NatWest Gold Credit Card is available subject to approval, only to existing NatWest current account customers with an income of at least £10,000 p.a., and aged 18 or over. Balance Transfer Rebate Scheme Terms and Conditions

  1. In order to qualify for the Balance Transfer Rebate ('the Rebate'), one or more balance transfer transactions must be debited to your credit card account ('your account') in the first 3 months from account opening.
    Please see Other Financial Information 2(B) of your credit card account terms and conditions ('credit card agreement') for details of the interest rate that applies to balance transfers.
  2. Any balance transfers debited to your account during the first 3 months from account opening (the 'Qualifying Balance') will be eligible for the Rebate. Balance transfers debited to your account after the first 3 months from account opening will not be eligible for the Rebate.
  3. Balance transfers are limited to 95% of your credit limit. You will receive details of your credit limit with your card.
  4. The Rebate will be a sum equal to 2% of such part of the Qualifying Balance that remains outstanding, as follows (i) on the date of your 8th statement from account opening, and (ii) on the date of every 5th statement thereafter. The statement date will appear at the top of your credit card statement and will remain fixed unless you elect to change your statement date. If you change your statement date, the Rebate will be calculated on your new statement date.
  5. The Rebate will be paid in the form of a credit to your account and will appear on your following month's credit card statement.
  6. Balance transfers for the purposes of the Rebate will have the meaning set out in your credit card agreement.
  7. If you break any terms and conditions of the credit card agreement with us, we reserve the right to (a) postpone or cancel payment of any Rebate earned but not yet credited to your account and (b) reduce or end any future Rebate.
  8. In the event that we take steps to terminate your credit card agreement, any Rebate earned but not yet credited to your account will be forfeited immediately. We may do this if you break any term of your credit card agreement, you become bankrupt, you die, we take action against you to obtain payment under your credit card agreement or you end your credit card agreement with us.
  9. On giving 6 months' notice to you, we may terminate the Rebate scheme and, on giving 30 days' notice to you, we may change these rules, the transactions that qualify for the Rebate, the rate at which the Rebate is earned, when the Rebate is paid and how it is paid to your account.

The application process takes place within a secure Web site. All information submitted is protected by strong security techniques including 128-bit encryption so that it cannot be read by others.

The information you provide will be subject to a credit search with a credit-scoring bureau. Each time a credit search is conducted it is recorded against your details held at the credit-scoring bureau.
