Q. Which phones can I cover?

A. The policy covers most types of mobile phone, including the iPhone, BlackBerry phones and other PDAs – up to a maximum original retail cost or value of £1000 per phone. If you are unsure if your phone can be covered, please call 0845 300 3695 (Minicom 0870 523 9670).

The policy covers named account holders on the bank account. Phones are only covered whilst it is being used by you or someone else you have given permission to (an “authorised” user). You also need to register the phone for cover.

Q. When does my cover start?

A. Your cover will start 14 days after you register. You will not be able to make a claim for any incident which occurs within this period.

Q. What do I need to register my phone?

A. You will need to tell us:

  • Your name and address
  • The mobile phone number(s)
  • The make, model, and IMEI number of the mobile phone(s)
  • Whether the mobile phone is on a monthly contract or pay-as-you-go
  • Your NatWest Advantage Gold account number and sort code
  • Your date of birth

Q. Can I swap my cover to a new phone?

A. Yes. Simply tell us if you have changed your phone or SIM card.

The phone and SIM card will be covered 14 days after registration. If you update existing handset or SIM card details cover is effective immediately.

Q. Will my phone be replaced on a like for like basis?

A. We endeavour to repair or replace your phone or offer you the same model, either as new or a refurbishment. If we can't offer the same model, we'll offer a similar specification phone, which may be new or refurbished.

Due to Apple having restricted stock we are unable to supply new or quality refurbished iPhones. If you opt not to accept an alternative phone then we offer a cash settlement equal to the value of a refurbished iPhone. This will be less than the cost of a new iPhone.

iPhone is a trade mark of Apple Inc and BlackBerry is a trade mark of Research In Motion Limited.
