Once you have received your bank card, you can then design the look of your card at natwest.com/adapt.

How can I change the image on my card?

You can change the design on your card whenever you like, but remember it will cost you £5 each time you change the design.

Can I put pictures of celebs on there?

Unfortunately No, there are a few rules as to what you can and can’t put on your card.

A list of 'Image Rules' will be shown on the 'Card Design' page and you will need to confirm that your image meets these rules before you upload it.

If your image does not meet the 'Image Rules' we will send you an email to let you know - if this happens, you can simply upload another image that does follow all of the "Image Rules".

How will I know my image is ok?

If your image meets all of the image rules, you will be sent an email to let you know that it's ok.

The email will contain a link that takes you straight into the card gallery where you’ll be able to view your card.

If you have chosen to display your card design in the Image Library then you'll also see how other users have rated it.

Can I upload images of me and my mates?

Yes you can but you need to have asked them for permission to do that first and if they are under 16, you'll have to ask their parents for permission - It says in our 'Terms and Conditions' that you need to have obtained their permission to upload a picture which contains their image.

If someone in your card design complains to us, we may have to remove it from the Image Library and reissue you with a standard bank card.

Adding My Image to the Image Library

Why do I want to add my design to the public Image Library?

You'll be in with the chance of earning some cash.

Add your design to the Image Library for other users to rate your image and give it an average rating.
The Top Ten highest rated images each month will then make up the Top Ten.

Every time somebody orders a card that features one of the Top Ten designs, the designer will get paid £1 per card ordered.

What is a screen name?

A screen name is the name that you give yourself when uploading an image into the Image Library.

It can be your name or a nickname. Use the same screen name every time you upload a new card design so you'll always be able to find all your designs using the search tool.

Why do you need a screen name?

The search tool allows you to search for your card designs by your screen name, so you can see all images/designs you’ve uploaded. It will also let your mates and other people know who has uploaded certain designs.

What are tags?

Tags are words that describe a particular image or design, or the main things that are featured within a design. For example, a picture of a beach could include the tags "sand" "sea" and "sun".

You can choose tags from the list we provide when you are adding your image to the library.

Why do you need to enter tags?

Tags help other users to find designs/images that include certain things that they are looking for. The search tool allows you to search by tags and so, for example, you can search for all images tagged "sand" to bring up any beach shots that have been tagged as "sand".

You can choose tags from the list we provide when you are adding your image to the library.

What does adding my image to the image library mean?

When you upload your image you can choose to add your card design to the Image Library.

The default is 'No'. This means your design will not be added to the image library and can only be used by you on your card. You'll see this on screen during the upload process.

If you choose 'Yes' to unlock your image, you'll be adding it to the Image Library. This means everyone can see your design.

People can then rate your card design and they may choose to use it on their card too. If they do, and you design also makes the Top Ten, you might even earn some cash.

Who can access the Image Library?

As our website is a public site, anyone can access the site and view the image.

Images can only be used by people who have a NatWest Adapt account and are aged between 11-18 years old.

Who can use my image?

If you have chosen not to add your design to the Image Library then no-one can use your design on their card.

If you have decided to add your design to the Image Library then anyone who has a NatWest Adapt account, aged 11-18, can use your image on their card if it's in the Image Library.

You might earn cash if you add your image to the Image Library and it reaches the Top Ten prize draw!

What are layers?

Layers are the different elements that make up your card design. The first layer is the image you uploaded and then the other layers, if you have chosen to add them, are the icons, symbols and text.

Can I protect my card design so no-one can change it?

If you've chosen to 'Protect Your Image', this will lock the layers in your card design, so that no-one can change it. If you've not chosen to 'Protect Your Image', people will be able to take your design and mash it to create a new, different design.

How many images can I upload?

You can upload as many images as you like. The cost per card order is £5. Remember to always use the same screen name and email address when adding them so you can always search and find them again!

How do I find all the images I've uploaded?

The best way to find all of your images would be to use the search tool and to search for your screen name. This will bring up all of the images you've designed and uploaded.

What are the rules for using other peoples images?

So long as an image isn't "locked", you can use any design in the Image Library and amend it using the designer tool, to create your own new design.

Image Rating and Payment

How do I get my image in the top ten?

Images can be rated by other users, giving each design an average rating.

The Top Ten is made up of the ten highest rated images in the image library. In the event of two images having the same average rating, the design that has the most votes will be ranked higher.

How are the images rated?

The images are rated by other site users. There is a five star system allowing users to rate a design/image with a score between one and five. These ratings will then be compiled to form an average rating.

How much do you pay me if other people use my image?

Top Ten designers will be paid £1 for every card that is ordered within the month that they are in the Top Ten.

For example, if your design is in the Top Ten rated designs for the month of September and fifty people order a card featuring your design, during September, you will be paid £50.

We'll contact you using the email address or phone number you gave us when you uploaded the image to arrange payment.
