NatWest Business Start Up Guide Leads the Way
(16 May 2005)

Starting up in business is clearly becoming an attractive, more viable option for many potential entrepreneurs, partly due to the availability of advice and guidance designed to make it easier to pursue the dream of going it alone.

NatWest's Business Start Up software, which launched in September 2004 and includes MyBusiness Essentials and a NatWest Business Planner, has been sent to over 100,000 prospective entrepreneurs in just six months. It enables customers who are thinking about setting up their own business to work through their ideas, produce a printable business plan and organise and manage financial records. The software is available through, or in a CD format in NatWest branches.

What's more the software recently scooped the annual Revolution Award for the Best B2B service. It was praised for the comprehensive functionality that it offers small businesses and for the extensive information that it offers potential new entrepreneurs.

Pete Ferns, Director of NatWest Business Banking, said: "Planning is the key to a successful start up and often many potential entrepreneurs need guidance with pulling together a business plan. If prepared and used properly a business plan can move and develop your business, telling you what is working and more importantly give you early warning of what is not."

Oliver Stephens, Managing Director of My Business Ltd, said: "Small businesses are the lifeblood of the UK economy and it is vital that they seek the correct advice and guidance before they go it alone. The Business Software is a really comprehensive package, which incorporates MyBusiness Essentials and the NatWest Business Planner, to ensure that potential entrepreneurs have the tools to make their business a success."
