Business Continuity Review
This is a service developed exclusively for our business customers which is designed to help businesses assess the financial impact that the loss of a key person could have. Such losses are often caused by death or critical illness or could even be due to planned retirement. The review can consider any or all these scenarios and the various ways of minimising their impact on the future growth and profitability of the business.
To help you analyse your needs and value your business for insurance purposes, your Business Financial Planning Manager is equipped with industry leading business valuation software designed in association with one of the UK's largest firms of accountants. There is no charge for the review and you are under no obligation to act on any of the recommendations made. The Business Continuity Review covers three main areas:
- The owners of the business
- Any key people within the business
- The liabilities of the business
Under each of these headings the review identifies who is most important to the business. A calculation is then done to determine the financial consequences if that individual were no longer able to contribute to the business in future.
Topics you can expect us to cover are:
1) Protection (life and income)
None of us like to think about the unpleasant things in life but we probably all know someone that has contracted or died from a critical illness. Life and critical illness cover can provide a lump sum to help at a time when both the family and business could be at their most vulnerable.
2) Investments
In recent years there have been a significant number of changes to tax legislation and as a result tax efficient investment has become an increasingly complex area. A BFPM can help ensure that you are making the most of the tax savings available.
You may also have investments elsewhere, wouldn't it be good to know whether that deal is competitive. A BFPM will happily provide you with some comparisons that will at the very least give you the peace of mind that you have the best deal.
3) Retirement planning
Many self employed individuals fail to adequately invest for the future and will face a significant drop in income at retirement. These discrepancies are understandable as the pension market can be fraught with complications and knowing what product is right for your circumstances is not always easy. That's where our planning managers specialist help can make this process less onerous.
