How is a partnership set up?

As with sole traders, each partner must tell HMRC that they are starting in business within three months of starting up. Any business stationery, including letterheads, business cards and so on, must be printed to display both trading names and personal names if these are different. Partners should draw up a deed of partnership with a solicitor to set out the terms and conditions of the partnership.
