Legal status
When is limited company status suitable?
The main advantage of a limited company is that its owners (shareholders) have limited liability for the debts of the business up to the value of their shareholding; they are not personally liable for the company's debts. Private limited companies need only have one shareholder and cannot publicly trade their shares. As a result, employees, other businesses, family members and acquaintances usually hold shares in private limited companies.
