Environmental issues

What legislation do I need to be aware of?

The main law governing environmental issues is the Environmental Protection Act 1990, which was the first step to integrating existing legislation and creating a unified environmental policy. There have been many regulations made under the Act, eg Environmental Protection (Duty of Care) Regulations 1991 and Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005. The first part of the Act has been replaced by the Pollution Prevention and Control Act 1999, which implements a European Directive. The Environment Act 1995 has amended the definition of waste.
