Is energy efficiency relevant to a small business?
Yes - for immediate cost-related reasons and for longer-term national issues. Firstly, a business can save money by being more careful with its use of energy. A review of the amount of energy consumed by heating, ventilation, lighting and equipment, can form the basis of a conservation strategy. Some initial investment in better insulation of offices, equipment adaptation and use of modern technology, could save the business money in the medium term.
As the country explores new and renewable energy sources in place of traditional hydrocarbon fuel, the likelihood is that national energy costs will rise and place growing pressure on businesses to conserve energy.
